North Branch Milwaukee River Wildlife and Farming Heritage Area

North Branch Milwaukee River Wildlife and Farming Heritage Area is a wildlife refuge in Random Lake. We manage scattered parcels of public land within a 25-square-mile block, preserving the area's agricultural farming tradition. Our project area encompasses wetlands, river corridors, and agricultural lands, including 9 miles of the North Branch Milwaukee River and three small lakes. We aim to protect farmland and offer low-impact, nature-based outdoor recreational opportunities.
