The staff at Blue Pearl was absolutely wonderful when my son had to bring our Zoe in on Memorial Day. He was watching her while we were out of town, and unfortunately she got very sick over the weekend. He brought her in to Blue Pearl as an emergency, sadly she passed. I cannot express enough, how grateful I am for the staff, on a holiday, to not only try to save Zoe, but to comfort my son also. I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff.
Show moreWe brought in our senior dog with the expectation that it was time to put him to sleep. We were nervous to bring our dog to an unfamiliar vet under such sensitive circumstances -- a necessity as our usual vet was closed. The care we received was exceptional.
The staff brought out a gurnee to keep our dog comfortable before we even stepped foot in the building. After our dog was examined, it was determined that euthanasia was the most humane thing we could do for him and they brought us to a comfortable room where we felt in control of the pace of the coming steps. They also laid blankets down so I could comfortably sit on the floor and be close to my dog at 7 months pregnant. We were shown kindness and empathy throughout the whole process, making a heartbreaking endeavor as positive as possible. We are so grateful.

5 out of 5 stars all the way to Blue Pearl Port Washington! Everyone was amazing there! Shout out to Dr. Buback, Susan, Marissa, Laura, and I feel there's one more vet tech that I cannot remember her name (the admitting vet tech day of surgery).
Long review...
My dog was referred to Blue Pearl by my primary vet after she was evaluated at UW Madison for limping on all 4 legs. UW could not get my dog in for another orthopedic consult and tentative surgery until June. My vet knew my dog shouldn't wait that long and referred us to Blue Pearl.
My dog is an anxious, scared, and sometimes can be reactive. So taking her to appointments can be stressful to both her and me.
I knew we were in good hands from the very first call when I called to schedule! Susan was so pleasant, caring, kind. She got Ailana in right away, literally got in within days (called Thursday, got in on Monday)! I mentioned we would be traveling a little over 2 hours, my dog's health issue & anxiety, and the fact UW Madison recommended surgery but couldn't get her in for months. Susan put a hold or block on the next day surgery schedule in case my dog needed surgery (i had no idea she did this until the vet tech mentioned it during the consult appointment)!
Marissa is super sweet, caring, calm, knowledgeable, and very good with my anxious dog!
Dr. Buback--I cannot speak highly enough about her!!! She is absolutely wonderful. She assessed my dog and diagnosed my dog with CCL tear and got her surgery done the very next day!! Not only this, but this one is huge for me.....she noticed the dose of meloxicam UW vet prescribed my dog was high and not a dose & frequency recommended for a dog. Now, as an owner you do what a vet tells you and don't think oh that doesn't seem right (referring to wrong dose of med prescribed by the other vet). She ran labs and saw my dog's liver function was elevated due to basically meloxicam toxicity (her liver function was normal 2 weeks prior to starting the med). If it wasn't for Dr. Buback being thorough and smart, who knows how long and how much I would have inadvertently screwed up my dog's liver and kidney function!
Laura, vet tech was a pleasant surprise! She was the vet tech taking care of my dog the night of her surgery. She texted me an update along with pictures!!! That was such a wonderful surprise! And she seemed to be taking such great care of my dog after surgery.
I cannot thank the entire staff enough at Blue Pearl Port Washington! Every single one of them--amazing and so caring! Thank you for taking such great care of Ailana! I appreciate you all and will recommend you to everyone!
