Wife and I decided to stop in this afternoon on a whim, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. It turned out to be exactly what we needed to relax before the start of a busy week. The location itself is stellar, right on the waterfront. Because it wasn't crowded at the time, we were able to snag a great spot and really appreciate the peaceful views and the relaxed atmosphere. Stepping inside, the ambiance was immediately welcoming. They absolutely nailed the holiday spirit. The Christmas music playing in the background was perfectly curated, festive enough to set the mood but not so loud that it drowned out conversation. Coupled with the charming Christmas decor, the whole place felt incredibly cozy and nostalgic. A major highlight for me was the drink menu. I loved the creative touch of focusing the cocktail list on National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation; it was a fun detail that really added character to the visit. We decided to try the eggnog and the spiced cider, and neither disappointed. The eggnog was rich and creamy without being overpowering, and the spiced cider was the perfect comforting warmer for a crisp afternoon. The only slight downside worth mentioning is the food selection. It is a bit limited, so I wouldn’t recommend coming here expecting a heavy, full course meal. However, that is genuinely the only critique I have, and given how high-quality the drinks, service, and atmosphere were, it is certainly not worth knocking off a star. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to get into the holiday spirit. It’s a solid 5-star experience!
Show moreI was so excited to see nonalcoholic options on the drink menu! While it is becoming more popular, I’ve see a lot of places turn to canned N.A. options, which have mostly lacked flavor and depth. To be able to get an N.A. margarita on happy hour and a whole flight of N.A. wines was so exciting! The marg was amazing and hit those “margarita” notes it’s hard to replicate without tequila. Numerous options for N.A. wines including reds and white. Overall, I was so excited to see the offerings Cavelier had that allowed me to still enjoy a happy hour afternoon with family. Can’t wait to come back! Definitely worth the drive up from Milwaukee!
Show moreGreat little wine bar on the Lake Michigan shoreline, overlooking the harbor! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the drinks were fantastic! Took a ride up after Summerfest and we will definitely be returning! There are cozy seating areas inside and a spacious deck for outdoor seating. Great for a date or a visit with friends. There is a good selection of reasonably priced and generously portioned cheese curds and cheese wedges available to snack on with your drinks. There are also crackers, pretzels, chocolate-covered potato chips, and mixed nut options. We tried the red port wedge and the crackers found next to the cheese case, and it was a terrific addition to our delicious cocktails! We had the Razzmataz and On Deck cocktails - both very flavorful and refreshing! We followed up with the spiced peach sangria which was also very good! The bathrooms are very clean ( always a good sign) and super cute. This is an hour and 20 minute drive from home, but we will definitely be returning! I highly recommend stopping in.
