Absolutely amazing dining experience. Food is delicious and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere and service are so welcoming. We really enjoyed the dinner and will definitely be back.

We try to come here every year when we’re in town and this year did not disappoint! They are under new ownership with an amazing new menu. They must be doing something right because the dining room was packed so we ate outside. You could see the waitstaff was doing a great job trying to keep up. We gave them all a little grace because we could see how busy they were. Our pasta and pizza were amazing, bruschetta was delicious. Good job everyone!

I had never been to Sweet Basil and decided to give it a shot since it's reopening and change of ownership. The place was understandably pretty quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. The atmosphere is nice. The dining room is comfortable and decor looks good. From my understanding they had it refurbished, but as I said, I'd never been to the old Sweet Basil so cant speak to changes. My server was nice and attentive. I tried to Bruschetta appetizer. I liked the crispy bread used. However, it was absolutely swimming in Balsamic. Every piece was beginning to get soggy from sitting on a plate absolutely covered in it. The topping of tomatoes was oddly almost too sweet. I ended up scraping most of it off. Just need some tweaking for better balance I think. The pizza I got was very delicious. Good crust. Just the right balance between fluffy but not too thick. Toppings were good. Cheese was gooey and stretchy. I really enjoyed this. My final note - from where I was seated in the dining room, I heard the kitchen area throughout most of my meal. Which I wasn't worried about - I was near the door and the place was pretty quiet. However, I became very uncomfortable when about halfway through my meal the arguments started. I heard staff yelling at each other, swearing, etc and who I assume to be a manager trying to step in and tell them to stop arguing. It was pretty off putting. I'd give them another try perhaps at a more busy time and bringing some friends along. Overall it was a fairly pleasant experience. I understand only being 1 week into their relaunch there are some kinks to work out and struggles to navigate.

It was our first time here for Valentine's and our 10 year anniversary and it was very good! We each had two drinks, muscles for appetizer, prime rib and the scallop risotto for dinner. We definitely will be back 🙂

Folks I have never had this poor service with this terrible quality of food. We had reservations at 6 and did not receive our food until 7:35. The delayed food is one thing, but we barely had any interaction with our server on anything. No drink order or water refills. We had to go to the bar to get drinks and we did not have our water refilled until the same time we got our food. The people in our group that had pasta had decent meals, but the steak sandwich was flattened ground beef (see the picture). Awful awful food and value for the price. If I knew I was essentially ordering a burger, a chain restaurant would have provided higher quality. Understanding that there must have been a short staff (never confirmed), we would have completely understood the situation and adjust our expectations and/or went elsewhere if someone would have let us know on any challenges in the kitchen, but nothing was communicated by the staff. I have heard that this was once a great spot to eat in Plymouth, but holy smokes it has drastically declined in quality across the board (service, food, drinks). If you considering coming here to eat, definitely call ahead and confirm the menu and that they have a food staff otherwise you are going to be sitting in cold restaurant for over 2hrs with substandard food.
