He's gone the extra mile for me every time, and when I brought him a neglected SG he was able to bring out the exact tones and performance I was hoping for. Best I've found in both California and Wisconsin. A real gem. Highly recommend.
I took my 50 year Gibson to Dave with some serious cracks, bridge issues and some structural stuff that I couldn't even see. I just picked it up in sound condition and with excellent sound. The fretboard looks and feels like new. Such fun to play! It’s pretty amazing what a guy with an abundance of talent and knowledge and hand eye coordination plus lots of patience can accomplish. I had previously been taking my guitars for servicing to Milwaukee and will no longer need or even want to do that! I took my Regal Dobro to David several years ago to see if he could improve the sound. He repaired the guitar and replaced a few key parts and the result was fantastic. What had been an okay beginner-level guitar was now a really good Dobro with a clear sound and amazing sustain. I recently started shopping for a better Dobro. I played a variety of guitars including a Paul Beard Mike Auldridge model and a Gold Tone Paul Beard signature model. When I played David's resonator the difference was startling. David's has a depth of sound and clarity that was only matched by the Beard Mike Auldridge model that was twice the price of David's guitar. I feel very lucky to have a Koebel Resonators Dobro.
