I've always had a fondness for Quassy Amusement Park and for the fishing on the lake. My great grandfather owned land adjacent to the lake that he sold to the Whittemore family during the depression. He also owned land alongside Rt. 63 that became the Watertown golf course and country club. I enjoyed visiting Quassy as a kid. The Wild Mouse and the Octopus and the Whip really ripped. I even liked riding the train. Sometimes, we took paddle boats on the lake as well...or rode the Quassy Queen as I believe it was called. The frozen Italian ice was delicious. Always a great family outing. Not sure about prices anymore. It's been awhile. There's a picnic area and beach as well as nearby Sandy Beach. Have fun!
