First visit. A bit apprehensive as reviews mixed. Ordered the center steer filet. Meal starts with excellent bread basket. Choice of average garden salad or soup; picked the clam chowder OK. Meat well charred and right temp; baked potato small; biggest outrage was $8 upcharge for a tiny amount of mushrooms. For that price, you should get a whole bowl. Companions all enjoyed their baked cod or whitefish and fried shrimp. Very good bartender; owner takes you to table making sure the uneven levels don't t trip u up. Waitress solid. No separate checks. Handwritten bill hard to decipher. Tip added for parties 5 or more. Bring cash. Atmosphere old school.

First time we have been here and were pleasantly surprised. The food was out of this world. My favorites loved the onion rings and the homemade ranch dressing. Our waitress Mary went out of her way to make everything perfect for us. We will be back very soon. On our next visit we are going to go on a Wed. for the lobster tail special. It looked out of this world. Till next time. Oh make a reservation it fills up fast.

We went here on a Friday, specifically for the fish fry. It was pretty good, but I wouldn’t come back here given the 30 minute drive. The old-fashioned was classic and pictured. The building is classic with many safety hazards present for tall humans. The bar staff was friendly. The weird thing was the service. In addition to our server’s bad mood, there was clearly some drama going on with the entire server staff and the host. Just thought I’d mention that because it became a pretty regular topic throughout the evening for us at the table. Service in general seems to be an issue here — just remembering some of the reviews that I read before we came here. I can see this being a place for regulars who live 5 to 10 minutes away.

If I could give ya an extra star or two I would friends. Hearty delicious old fashioned but modernly tasty food here. Great service and it has that classy supper club charm. My absolute favorite is their homemade cheddar buns served with the meal. This place is pretty legit. Reservations are a good idea but if you hit at the right time you can slip in for a delectable meal. It’s just that good!
