Korean BBQ in Mequon with self-serve ramen and soju flights
My boyfriend planned a surprise dinner night at Bawi and let me tell you it was a date to remember. The experience was wonderful. How fun to be able to cook your own food. The interactive environment did not stop at the grill top table yet they had a ramen bar too! Definitely check this place out totally worth it! Suggest Bentley so genuine and kind with spectacular hospitality
I had an amazing experience at Bawi! The food was absolutely outstanding—everything came out fresh. What really made the experience memorable was the exceptional customer service. Gabe and Joy were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They checked in regularly, made sure we had everything we needed, and created such a positive and enjoyable dining experience. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. If you’re looking for delicious food and top-notch service, I highly recommend Bawi. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Great portions of tender beef- the spicy beef bulgogi was so good, my husband ordered it twice! The ramen bar in the back is so fun- they rice cakes, mushrooms, mini sausages, fish cakes to add to your ramen, and they have a mini snack store. I also loved the mul naengmyeon (clear cold noodle soup)- very refreshing in July! I did the Soju flight- don’t sleep on the lychee or yogurt flavors of Soju. You can also get the viral ice bear hotpot. Will come again, great for double dates!
Food was great as always—great selections of appetizers and meats. We came in on Mother’s Day, one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants, but we were in and out in 1.5 hours. 10/10! Recommend for everyone to check it out, but maybe on a less busy day for the full 2 hr service. One of my favorite restaurants, you must come check it out at least once or twice if you love it like me.
I recently visited Bawi Korean BBQ and overall had a solid experience, though it didn’t completely blow me away. First off, the restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere feels comfortable and organized, which makes it a nice spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff really stood out—they were friendly, attentive, and respectful throughout the entire visit, which definitely added to the experience. Food-wise, the Korean BBQ selection is good, but not exceptional. The galbi (short ribs) was probably one of the highlights—I’d rate it about a 4/5. It was flavorful and well-marinated, definitely something I would order again. The boba drinks were also surprisingly good for a BBQ spot, around a 4/5. However, not everything hit the mark. The pork jowl was disappointing (1/5). It had a noticeable weird smell that made it hard to enjoy, and it didn’t seem very fresh. That was probably the biggest downside of the meal. One thing I really liked about this place is the unique setup. They have a self-serve noodle station, which is a fun and convenient addition, plus a mini convenience store in the back where you can grab snacks and drinks. It adds a different vibe compared to your typical Korean BBQ spot. Overall, everything was good, but nothing was super memorable or “wow.” That said, for the price point, I do think it’s a better option than KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot—you get a solid experience with good service and a clean environment.
