We had an amazing stay at Belden House. Everything was wonderful -- the house itself, our room the spa, the pool, the food and drink and, most of all, the staff. And the location is prefect -- a quick walk to Litchfield's shops and restaurants, and a great jumping off point to touring other sites in Litchfield County

I had dinner last weekend at Belden House and was struck first by the atmosphere. What a beautiful dining room. Rich with history. The service was impeccable. But the star of the show was the food. Incredible, simple dishes that were rich, and bursting with perfectly blended flavors. Treat yourself to this unforgettable dining experience. Pricey, yes, but totally worth it. Especially if you're a bit of a foodie. Excellent all around.

Lovely interior design and concept but truly needs an experienced hospitality visionary to push it further and offer more amenity experience's for guests to be impressed. I enjoyed my time at the mayflower more. We thought this would have been more of a "quiet luxury experience". Food : was very fresh and thoughtful with seasonal menu. I loved the pasta dish I had. At times very heavy on the sodium for certain parts of some of the dishes (maybe a diff. chef prepares things such as the burger , french fries, and savory breakfast items). Our server was young but very knowledgeable and professional at the restaurant. He was exceptionally through - He did a phenomenal job explaining the dishes and helping us understand them! He offered very valuable / story telling like insight. Rooms : Our Suites did not include mini fridge and felt for what our rate was this would have been something the room would have. It did have Heated Bathroom floors - very nice and the pullout sofa is a comfortable bed! More to do: I believe all guests would enjoy more curation of events and property actives to enjoy while staying. There is not much too do on property It was very quiet. 1st impressions: Valet service was nowhere to be found, and left us unclear about help with all of our bags. We started unloading our car...a woman came to help and we felt bad that she would have to do all of our bags - they have no bell hop or anything! Then Matt the butler came to help and he had to hand carry everything - we felt so bad. Matt the butler is very friendly and personable (I feel he is going above and beyond). I think the staff is trying there best but they need mentorship with additional support. Organization and Managment was lacking and could really be improved. We had to ask 3 times for our bill to be revised because all the offers had not been applied to our check out bill....with our planners virtuosos credits (since booking through our travel planner) then the program was not working to show the notes...then she needed to go to the manger and we needed to wait again. This is something a guest should have had not to keep asking about and waiting on corrections to be made. Location is good - Within walking distance to shops and other places to eat. Overall, what we thought we were going to experience and what our experience was were two very different things.

Loved our stay at the Belden House. The room was beautiful and the bed wonderfully comfortable. Really appreciated the attention to detail throughout the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic as well! Look forward to staying again next time we are in the area.

I stayed at Belden House for a corporate retreat. My room was a beautiful and spacious suite. Loved the Frette slippers and other luxurious details, but missed having a little fridge. The gym was stunning and I had it all to myself on a weekday morning. The food was excellent, and the restaurant and bar were elegantly decorated. What stood out to make the stay most enjoyable was the service - staff went above and beyond to make it a comfortable stay!
