Hey, it's your girl again, Honest Review!! I recently had the opportunity to visit The Hartford Club for the first time while attending a meeting, and I came away thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that The Hartford Club is more than just a venue—it's a place rich with history, tradition, and elegance. The building itself has a timeless charm that reflects Hartford's heritage while still feeling welcoming and comfortable. The hospitality was exceptional. The staff was attentive, professional, and made guests feel genuinely welcomed throughout the event. The food presentation was beautifully done, and everything served was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The overall setup for our meeting was organized, polished, and created an atmosphere that was both professional and enjoyable. One of the highlights of my visit was learning about the club's cigar lounge and outdoor patio space. I had the opportunity to see members enjoying cigars on the patio, and the setting offered a relaxing, private retreat with beautiful views and a sophisticated ambiance. It's easy to see why members appreciate this unique amenity. As someone visiting for the first time, I left curious to learn even more about the club's history and the various membership opportunities and social groups available. The Hartford Club appears to offer a unique blend of tradition, community, networking, and hospitality that is increasingly rare to find. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and look forward to returning in the future. Whether you're attending a business meeting, networking event, social gathering, or simply exploring one of Hartford's historic institutions, The Hartford Club is well worth a visit.

There are very few places left in America where time has been successfully argued with. The Hartford Club, tucked behind a white Corinthian portico on Prospect Street in the long shadow of the Travelers tower, is one of them. The Mark Twain Lounge is the main event. Floor-to-ceiling dark paneling, iron ring chandeliers throwing amber light into the upper corners, leaded diamond-glass windows that turn afternoon sun into something quieter and older. A properly mounted elk presides over the room with the authority of a founding partner. The leather club chairs have earned their patina. The crystal is heavy. The ashtrays are serious. And yes, you can smoke inside. Legally. One of the last rooms in Connecticut where this is true, operating under a grandfathered exemption from the 2003 Clean Indoor Air Act. The humidor cabinet in the corner is well-stocked and the service knows what it's doing. A flat screen somewhere in the paneling was showing basketball, which felt less like a concession and more like evidence the club has decided comfort and tradition aren't mutually exclusive. The history earns its keep rather than just decorating the walls. Mark Twain was a charter member in 1873 and rabid Davidof smoker. The building itself, designed by Andrews, Jaques & Rantoul and completed in 1903, is on the National Register, intentionally scaled just above a private residence to signal institution without losing the feeling of a home. Prime Rib Night. Raw bar. Yum. Reciprocal access to over 1,000 clubs worldwide. This is a room that rewards slowing down. Bring someone worth talking to, order something with weight, and let the building do the rest.

Great Cigar Lounge. Huge TV room to watch games and a room with a billiard table. Friendly atmosphere. Excellent food and bar service. Great variety of quality cigars.

I'm a wedding photographer who recently had the chance to work at The Hartford Club. And...it's now one of my favorite CT wedding venues! First is the location. They say it in real estate and, in many ways, it applies to weddings as well. This area of Hartford is awesome photographically. If you book The Hartford Club, you have it for your wedding portraits, but also several walkable locations nearby. Second is the venue itself. Their service is great, the layout is conducive to a demure wedding day, and the old-school character is really nice. So from a wedding photographer's perspective, you should definitely consider The Hartford Club for your wedding day!

I was recently here for a Birthday party. I love the fact we were able to park in the underground garage. It was a bit of a walk to the front door of the club, but I knew my car was safe. You can tell from the moment you walk in, the building has been here for a long time. It’s in good condition considering the age. Once the nostalgia wore off, it was disappointing. Some of the employees were amazing. A few were ill prepared and had bad attitudes. The food was adequate at best. There were roasted potatoes which had no flavor, roast beef which also had no flavor, and Chicken Francese which was OK.
