The inside of the ice cream shop felt a bit posh and industrial especially with the brick walls and downstairs to some extent. I got the ice cream nachos and their unique take on cookie dough ice cream is green which is a bit odd but it tasted good. I also got the birthday cake and blueberry cheesecake flavors for my ice cream nachos.

This is a great place they got a little place down stairs so you can eat and they got a whole bunch of good flavors not too expensive so it’s a great place

I visited Capital Ice Cream today with my son for a little end of the week, after school ice cream date, and it was such a great experience! I actually had the chance to meet the owner, and she was incredibly kind, personable, and down to earth, especially with my son 😊 There was also another woman working at the register whose name I did not catch, but she was just as warm and welcoming. She took the time to make conversation with me about my son, which I really appreciated. I have been here before and always enjoyed the vibe, but something about today really stood out. The atmosphere felt so homey and genuine! It is the kind of place where you feel comfortable and taken care of, not just another quick stop for ice cream. I would absolutely recommend Capital Ice Cream to anyone, whether you are going solo or with friends or loved ones. The environment is truly welcoming, and being right in the city of Hartford just a few minutes away from Bushnell Park, makes it even better. It is definitely a place I will keep coming back to!

Fantastic ice cream spot that is family-owned! It's decorated so cute and I loved reading all of the CT facts on the wall. The ice cream here is so smooth and creamy which is the only way to have a good cone. Serving size was plentiful just how I like it! :-) The shop is very spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating where you can just chill and enjoy your frozen treat. Definitely worth a try!

This little ice cream shop is a gem in Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood, right next to Story and Soil Coffee shop (another wonderful place to check out). The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the decor is fun and colorful, and best of all the ice cream is delicious. The mint chocolate chip is so refreshing and the chocolate peanut butter is filled with waves of peanut butter. They have lots of options for everyone; ice cream, dairy free flavors, milkshakes, Sunday’s, and slushees. The place opened in June 2018 so if you haven’t been yet definitely check them out!
