The Memorial United Methodist Church has a special history in Milwaukee. The Congregation was founded on this site in 1840. In 1848, they built a log cabin church. Ten years later they built a new church out of ‘cream city brick’. This building stands behind the large, modern building. After the new church was built, the cream city brick building was used as a gym. Today it is used as a museum housing records, books and other historical items. The museum is set within the old cemetery. Parking is not a problem. Handicap access should be arranged prior to a visit as there are a few steps to the entrance.
