We came on 3/4/26 for personal/business tax. We were working with Mary this year who seemed very knowledgeable. We had peace of mind because we felt that we were coming in early enough in the tax season. When we got there our idea of the appointment was to sit down and have her input our paperwork/forms and have us sign at the end and be done. What it ended up being was her talking mainly about my husbands business, if he was going to dissolve it, and then changing the address for himself in case they need to send him something because they can send it right to him (which didn't have anything to do with taxes) but it was still a nice gesture. She didn't input anything into the system in this appointment for taxes and we spent at least an hour if not an hour and a half with her. It was mainly focused on my husbands business and discussion about that. She told us she would get everything done and we could sign on Monday night which was March 9th a couple days later. Which she ended up cancelling. In our first session she kept saying how they got a new business program and they kind of expected the staff to know how to use it and familiarize themselves with it with no training. My husband had left many emails for her with no response and we went there in person once to wait for her because the receptionist said Mary needed something. We waited 15 minutes and left due to heat. I then stopped by 4/13/26 & Mary took me back because she didn't have a client. I was expecting to just find out what she needed from us but I ended up sitting with her for an hour. She again started talking to me about my husbands business which I have no clue about. She was going down our personal taxes and I had to call my husband a few times due to business stuff as well as a couple house things. She insisted on trying to get him to see if he had deductions he could use for the business possibly. I don't like doing things for him that I know nothing about. This was extremely exhausting and frustrating. I told her that tax day was in 2 days and she brought up the business taxes again and that they had this new system that she's learning and working her way around. She continued to show me our refund without the business tied in and then said that she has to finish the business before she can file our personal. It was very confusing what she had done and what she didn't because prior to me coming, at one point she did say to my husband that the personal were done. I asked her if she thinks we need to extend them because it seemed like that's what she was trying to get at and she didn't answer me at first and beat around the bush. I asked her again considering we were two days away from tax day and she said, yea that was probably a good thing. Then she said there was a $99 fee for extension which upset me because I felt pressured into extending it in the first place but she got that waived with a coupon. We ended up having to call the manager because we again didn't hear from Mary. Our taxes were done on the 24th of April and it is May 2nd. Manager said we could sign with someone else, so when we went to sign with that person Mary was up front and clearly caught off guard. She said, "Oh I still have some things to finish on your stuff". So she flat out lied to us which upsets me. When we said we were there to see Maria you could tell she was upset and she said, "Maria, your customers are here". We were sitting next to her booth as well and my husband does feel like Mary may have said something to her client about us while we were there which is unfortunate and unprofessional. I appreciate her knowledge but she does become very fixated on certain things and distracted. I do feel that she maybe took on more than what she should have and therefore this is where the pressure came from for me to extend our taxes which I really did not want to do. i think she wanted to extend them so she could put them on the backburner. I told her on the 13th that we were ready to sign and that's why we brought our paperwork in on March 4th.
