Exceptional GI Care and Colonoscopy Experience at Aurora Health Care (Greenfield, WI) — BUT FRONT DESK INTERACTION WAS CONCERNING I had a colonoscopy at Aurora Health Care on Suna Road in Greenfield, WI on April 16, 2026. Overall, my experience with the GI medical team and colonoscopy care was exceptional. I arrived around 9:30 a.m. for my procedure, and everything was handled promptly and efficiently. The facility itself is beautiful—bright, very clean, and it even smelled clean, which immediately created a sense of comfort and professionalism. The GI medical team, including nursing staff, anesthesiology, and the surgeon, was outstanding. My nurse, who had 20 years of experience, demonstrated excellent clinical skill and provided calm, kind, and supportive bedside care. She answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. The anesthesiologist and surgeon were equally professional and reassuring. They both made direct eye contact, communicated clearly, and worked seamlessly together. I especially appreciated the attentive care, including staff who made sure I was comfortable with a warm blanket during the procedure. As a doctor of education, I recognize when medical professionals are both highly knowledgeable and genuinely skilled in patient care, communication, and bedside manner. This GI team exemplified that level of excellence. I would highly recommend Aurora Health Care GI services in Greenfield, WI based on the quality of medical care I received. HOWEVER, my experience at the front desk on the ground level was very concerning. The staff member nearest to the elevators was unwelcoming and spoke in a harsh, dismissive tone when giving directions to the second floor GI department. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable in a healthcare setting, especially as a patient entering for a procedure. It left me feeling uneasy and, at the time, felt discriminatory in nature. IN CONTRAST, the receptionist on the second-floor GI department was welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and immediately helped ease my discomfort upon arrival upstairs. Overall, the medical care for my GI procedure and colonoscopy was excellent, and I would recommend this location for its clinical staff. I do hope leadership addresses front desk interactions so that every patient feels respected and supported from the moment they enter.
I do not recommend Dr Dobberpuhl if you need to get a tonsillectomy, I had a surgery scheduled and he didn’t show up to it, he also didn’t answer any of the phone calls that the hospital made to him.
Dr. Benjamin Knight (orthopedic doctor) is the best! I took my elderly mother-in-law to see him a week or so ago and he is very warm, friendly & caring. He shook both of our hands and made eye contact instead of just going right to the computer. He listened to her concerns and provided good information. We both highly recommend Dr. Knight!
