Outdoor and park concerts
Summer bandstand series, park concerts and market-day stages are free, early, and built for families. Bring a rug and expect children to dance at the front, which is encouraged.
Matinee and early shows
Some venues run afternoon or six o clock sets, particularly on Sundays. These are listed as matinee or early doors and are frequently all-ages even when the venue is over eighteen at night.
Festivals with family areas
Most multi-day festivals have a family field with lower volume, activities and somewhere to sit. Children under a certain age are often free, but still need a ticket booked.
Community and church halls
Folk clubs, community choirs and school concerts play in halls that are all-ages by default, inexpensive, and very welcoming to newcomers.
