Authentic Italian and artisan pizzas in Elm Grove
Beautiful spot. I had dinner here this past Saturday 7/25 and I was highly impressed. The staff was great, our waitress, who's name I forgot but she was absolutwly amazing and was very helpful with suggestions. Food was delicious! So so good. Generous portions and seasoned well. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back!
Our 27 person group celebrated a Sweet 16 birthday on 7/25/26. The food was delicious. Our server LIENA was incredible! The way she took care of our large group was simply amazing!! She was so efficient and had a smile on her face the whole time. She deserves extra special recognition for a job beyond well done!!!
Love it here! We have had Juan the last two times as our server and he is great! Attentive, personable, and overall a wonderful experience. The vibes are lively and great with the open garage doors, we always choose Za for date night or bringing out of town guests! Not to mention great food & drinks everytime.
2/26/26: updated from 4 to 5 stars. I get takeout there quite often and every time the employees are so helpful and obviously care about the food and your experience. I also met the owner and she seemed very nice. It has become one of my favorite restaurants. I go to ZA in Elm Grove fairly often. I like it, even though it has its flaws. It gets loud, which keeps the place lively but makes it hard to hear people across the table. The bar seats are comfortable, and service there is usually fast and professional, even when they’re busy. Portions are huge. Pasta dishes can easily stretch into multiple meals. Prices aren’t cheap but not outrageous for what you get. Garage style doors open up when the weather is nice. Not the best Italian I’ve ever had, but I keep going back and enjoy it overall.
My wife and I went here for the first time tonight after a friend’s recommendation. We were definitely not disappointed! Despite the moderate noise level (we got there right when they opened but it filled up quickly), atmosphere is on point and food was delicious. We were seated right next to the wood-fired pizza oven, was super neat to watch the pizzas being made! We had the cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer and for dinner I got the diavalo cavatappi and she had the spicy rigatoni vodka - all were very good. Highly recommend trying Za if you are in downtown Elm Grove. We will for sure be back! 🍝🍕
