Nichols Creek State Wildlife Area is a wildlife area in Cascade. Our 612-acre property features coldwater seeps and spring runs that form Nichols Creek, which then becomes the North Branch of the Milwaukee River. Anglers can find naturally producing brook and brown trout in Nichols Creek, a Class 1 trout stream. We manage the property with lowland woodlands, shrub-carr, restored prairies, grasslands, and northern hardwoods to support diverse wildlife species throughout the year.

Walk through tall weeds to see a creek and a pipe you can supposedly drink from.

W6777 COUNTY RD. N is the parking lot address for anyone who had as much trouble finding it as I did! The sign is pretty hidden by overgrowth but man it was worth the search. Such a beautiful hidden gem. Definitely not stroller or even wagon-friendly past the first short stretch of trail, but it was an easy walk and fun adventure for my almost-3-year-old. The first little bridge is a great spot for throwing [whinnie the] pooh sticks too. No real amenities, just lovely secluded nature with fields and forests.

Lovely area!!! The water is so clear! Trails were a bit overgrown though.

Awesome, great place for a walk,dog loves it.also hunting and fishing.also a spring to drink from.I also found the old man in the forest lol
