I just wanted to commend the North Canaan Volunteer Fire Department for their ceremonial display on 9/11/24. While driving by the firehouse that morning, I noticed the huge flag flying high against the background of a bright blue sky, much like it was in 2001. I rolled down my window to take a photo, and heard the reading of the names being broadcast through the loudspeaker. It is very heartwarming to see that even 23 years later, a VOLUNTEER Fire Department in a far corner of Northwest Connecticut remembers and memorializes the day in such a special way.
