This place, which used to be consistent and wonderful, has gone downhill lately. No welcoming greeting, no personality or care, and the bathroom had a gross musty smell. The French toast is always amazing, but this time the serving seemed smaller and was barely warm. We also got the western omelette with additional egg whites. It was the smallest omelette I’ve ever seen-maybe 6” wide. And $19. No way there were 3 eggs and egg whites in it. The portions have gotten so small. The coffee poured was half a cup and luke warm at best. Service was meh, but we understand the restaurant’s affiliation with the rehab facility and appreciate that. The long time manager lady (I feel like her name was Sara) wasn’t there. Maybe that has something to do with it…Disappointing. Probably won’t go back anymore.

Stopped here with a group of cyclists friends. We understood that the place was busy and did not want to sit. So we ordered take out and waited outside to not crowd the venue. We held the door open for other customers and generally were welcomed by others. The waiters were accommodating. However when we went to express our gratitude to the floor manager he said that we were not welcome and that we should not stop by next year. Completely unacceptable response.

Wonderful breakfast. Easy to get to off the Appalachian Trail. Very nice staff. Hiker friendly. Clean bathrooms.

Oh my goodness! A must stop if you are in the area. Delicious food and service was top notch! Best breakfast I have had for a very long time. Eggs were light and fluffy. I was waited on by several employees and all were very friendly. I would be a regular at Morningside Cafe if I lived in this area. Great place!

Mountainside Cafe is a Must-Visit! I had the pleasure of visiting Mountainside Cafe today, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a wonderful, inviting vibe that sets the tone for a truly enjoyable meal. We tried the pulled chicken wrap and the avocado sandwich, and both were incredibly delicious. But it wasn't just the food that impressed; the service was absolutely tremendous—attentive, friendly, and efficient. And if you're a coffee lover, you have to try their cappuccino; it was tremendous, easily one of the best I've had. We also enjoyed their strawberry refresher drink. Honestly, everything about Mountainside Cafe was really good. If you're looking for a spot with great food, fantastic drinks, excellent service, and a super nice atmosphere in Connecticut, this is definitely the place to go. I can't wait to go back!
