Local history museum in a restored railroad station
Falls Village Canaan Historic Soc is a museum in Canaan. We are located in the historic train depot at 44 Railroad Street in Falls Village, offering exhibits and maintaining the South Canaan Meetinghouse, a National Register of Historic Places site. Our team collects and preserves old records, artifacts, domestic and farm tools, family and business records, and railroad artifacts.

Interesting museum. In the process of remodeling
The building is an old railroad station. The library is the old men's waiting room. The displays and building are undergoing restoration. We were delighted to see displays of military uniforms and transcriptions of old letters and diaries from the civil war era. There was plenty of information on the local iron industry, of course. The best part of the visit was being able to talk to the people sitting in the library and ask questions.
Great place to learn of the past history regarding Falls Village!
