This park could be nice but the human aspect of it has lost the meaning of camping. During the day outside the campground this place is pretty great, nice beach, the little lake is nice, the hiking is great. I don't recommend staying here unless you enjoy trailer park country music fest. Day and night, music blasting, people being loud and obnoxious. They claim the "quiet hours" are 11pm to 6am on all the signs but no one is enforcing that at all. We regrettably camped here two nights. The first night we had two neighbors loudly talking until 3am and then after that you could still hear them cleaning up and moving around for another hour shutting car doors etc. The second night around 5pm (dinner) we had three competing sites playing their own music loudly. One site had 70's hits, and two others had random country music so sitting at our site was just a mash of all this noise. Thankfully that slowed down to only one site around 8pm so we listened to 70's hits until 11:30pm when they started settling down. Thought I was actually going to get some sleep for a night but I sure was wrong because a few sites down the road people were just ready to start the party around 1:30am and keep it going until after 4am. I tried to figure out who to call, DNR or a ranger but the numbers I found no one answered. I gave up and just waited until they were done and was able to fall back asleep. Thankfully my two small children seem to be able to sleep through most anything. Where are the rangers? Do they not patrol anymore? Why has this turned into just a huge party instead of actually enjoying the outdoors? If you're looking for a trashy place to party, this is it. If you're looking to experience the outdoors and maybe some peace and quiet, do not go here.
