My sons and I are in an unfortunate divorce situation. They attend this church sometimes with their mom. I called to ask what days and times first communion classes are and spoke to a woman I believe named Suzette to try to understand my son’s situation for attending first communion classes since his mom will not give me information. She told me the classes are full but that did not answer my question. After asking what times and days their first communion classes are, Suzette was evasive saying Monday afternoon and Tuesday evening. I asked for the specific times and she tried to avoid telling me. She then said she could not give me information on my own son. I was shocked at such prejudice and bigotry. She told me I would have to talk to the mom even though I let her know the mom will not give me information. I was very upset and told her I was a former catechist (who would never play favorites with parents) and that mothers are not more important than fathers. Fathers have just as much right to their kids and I am asking for general information about when their classes are. I’m not even asking about my son. After having to assert myself as an equal parent she did tell me the times. I couldn’t believe she was trying to hide this information from me which I later found out was published online. If this Church is going to engage in feminist bias against fathers who are just looking for first communion class times, I can’t imagine what would happen if something more important came up. I highly recommend looking for a different Church.

St. Dominic's is such a beautiful church located in Brookfield. The parish is so nice and welcoming

Of the many church festivals that involve dancing, this one at Saint Dominic Catholic Parish was the best we’ve been to. This year featured the polished performance of The Doo-Wop Daddies, a local ‘50s and ‘60s band that might be the best in the area for this type of music. We were impressed with the excellent food, the kind volunteers who served it, and the additional amenities that went along with this free festival. For instance, there was enough parking for the hundreds of cars that showed up on the beautiful afternoon we were there. And, for those who couldn’t walk far, there were shuttle buses to take people from the large parking field to the tent where the band was playing. This festival and the lovely people attending it simply could not have been better. Five stars!

St. Dominic is a very warm, inviting, vibrant parish. There are a lot of young families there. It offers many ways to get involved and grow in your faith.
