Comedy club with a full-service kitchen inside The Corners of Brookfield
I love the atmosphere; however, the food quality is disappointing. Much of it tastes as though it goes straight from a freezer bag into the fryer, rather than being freshly prepared. There have also been several occasions when I ordered food that never arrived—even after reminding the waitress. The atmosphere is enjoyable, but the food quality and service need significant improvement.
This was our second visit to Milwaukee Improv, and after going twice, I feel like we've finally figured out the best way to experience it. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back, but I wanted to share a few tips that would have made our first visit much easier. First, if you're using GPS, I highly recommend navigating to the Von Maur parking garage instead of Milwaukee Improv itself. The venue is located within The Corners of Brookfield, which is a large shopping and dining complex, and the easiest way to access it is through the Von Maur parking garage. Once you turn into the complex, stay left to enter the parking garage. After you drive down into the garage, take your first left, and you'll see the entrance to Milwaukee Improv. Parking is free, and although the garage is large, we've never had trouble finding a spot. If you're arriving closer to showtime, you may just have a slightly longer walk. The venue itself is very nice inside, and the illuminated marquee outside gives it a classic comedy club feel. One of the biggest things I wish we had known before our first visit is the difference between General Admission and VIP tickets. The first time we attended, we purchased General Admission. The seating charts online make it appear that everyone has a table, but in reality there are additional rows of chairs placed between many of the tables. If you arrive later, there's a good chance you'll end up in one of those rows without a table, and the seating can feel pretty cramped. For our second visit, we upgraded to VIP, and it made a huge difference. VIP guests use a separate entrance, are admitted before General Admission, and are guaranteed a table in the front section. Being able to get settled, place our food order early, and have our own table made the overall experience much more enjoyable. If your budget allows, I'd definitely recommend upgrading. One helpful tip is to pay attention to the door opening time listed on your ticket. From our experience, doors have generally opened about 1½ hours before the show starts, which gives you plenty of time to get checked in, find your seat, order food and drinks, and relax before the comedian takes the stage. Another thing we really enjoyed was the food service. Milwaukee Improv has a full-service kitchen with a surprisingly extensive menu—not just typical concession food. We ordered the loaded nachos and the chicken and waffles, and both were very good. Ordering is also incredibly easy. Each table has a QR code that allows you to browse the menu and place your order directly from your phone. You can also order from your server if you prefer, but we found the QR code system to be quick, convenient, and efficient. The food and drinks are delivered right to your table during the show. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a two-item minimum per person, which can be food and/or drinks. Also, be prepared for the pricing. The food was good, but both the food and cocktails are on the expensive side. Cocktails averaged around $15 each, so it's something to factor into your budget before you go. Overall, Milwaukee Improv has become one of our favorite date night spots. The comedians we've seen have been excellent, the venue is clean and well-run, and the VIP experience was absolutely worth the extra cost. Hopefully these tips help make someone else's first visit a little easier than ours was!
From start to finish we had a great experience. The staff were attentive and seemed happy to be there which set a positive tone for the whole evening. The drinks and food were tasty and the prices were appropriate for a show venue. The acts were funny and the venue was intimate. We went with the VIP Premium booth and so glad we did. It was a great view of the stage and very comfortable. We got a sizable food/drink credit that made it a great deal as well. Go check it out. You'll have fun! 😁
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. Covered, well-lit parking, friendly employees, delicious food and drinks, and not a bad seat in the house. Sure, the drinks are a little pricey, but they’ve got to pay the comedians! We absolutely loved it. Drove 4 hours and we’d do it again!
So a few issues that we encountered based off the website and other reviews. Parking is free and the entrance is just inside the parking lot. Opening time stated on the website says 3:30, but that is the box office. They open at 5:30 and pack you in. The meal service is quick and easy. They state a QR code for menus but they have physical copies. Prices are reasonable and the selection is great. Happy times.
