Someone please suggest decaf to cashier Mason. I do all I can to time my place in line to avoid her over the top annoying “customer service” chit chat and directions when checking out. A simple hello is plenty. Jeez!!

Brookfield Goodwill has lost their mind. Pricing is INSANE. $19.99 for a used toaster that was not even tested. Every item is overpriced. If I wanted to pay Internet new prices I would order from home. If Goodwill wants Internet prices they needs to test and list the item on the Internet. I can have a toaster delivered to my door brand new for less than that. Get a grip. Thrift Grift.

I travel around the metro area for work and shop at goodwill when I’m nearby. Out of the entire metro region, this Brookfield location is the most expensive. Many prices border on gouging. I can go to any Goodwill in the Milwaukee metro area and do better on pricing, sometimes 50-75 percent less overall. Many items are priced higher than non-sale retail. I’ve seen mismatched incandescent light bulbs inside led bulb boxes for higher than retail. 20 year old tvs for $100. I regularly see board games for $20 to $40, banged up and stained drink ware for $15, eyeglass cases with no glasses inside at $10, fake handbags $20+. It feels like the back room workers are looking up items on eBay, taking 50 percent of listed prices (not actually sold prices). Then adding another 50 to 75 percent. Completely wild. These items shouldn’t be priced higher just because it’s in Brookfield. Grafton, East Milwaukee, Pewaukee, Hartford are per capita on par with Brookfield if not higher income and those locations are priced 50 percent less. Downright shameful pricing.

My only complaint would be that some prices really don't seem that great in comparison to other thrift stores. They seem to price things for the same as used clothing on Amazon. Goodwills used to always have a color of the day which was half priced, this seems to be phased out. It's still a great place to visit and I like browsing there it's like a little museum of oddities at times.

**UPDATE** One of my biggest beefs with this store when I visited a month ago was the quality of the clothing on offer and the amount of clothing on the floor. Since that time, this has changed. Clothing racks were neat and organized and the store was much cleaner, especially the clothing section. On this visit I found a bunch of cute J.Crew and other name brand tops, including some that were on sale. Each of these items looked new and unworn and instead of being tagged in the shoulder seam and leaving a hole in the front of the shirt, they were carefully tagged through the inside back neck seam. I was very impressed with the clothing quality and selection of clothing and hard goods this trip. Racks and shelves were well stocked without being overcrowded. In addition, the store was overall cleaner and more organized than I have seen it on past visits. The craft section was more organized than it has been in the past as well. They get some fun floral items, quirky vintage and handmade items that make this store well worth a stop. They also have a great selection of lamps. This is a smaller store and it can quickly become overcrowded with merchandise and shoppers, especially on weekends. It's best to go during off-peak hours if you want to browse the shelves. **ORIGINAL REVIEW** This store is in a great location, across from Kopp's and Hobby Lobby. It's worth checking out if you're visiting either, but otherwise not worth a trip. Pros: Location. Good selection of home decor items. Florals and photo frames are especially well displayed and easy to shop. Polite, helpful staff. Cons: Overcrowded, poorly organized shelves of home goods and clothing racks. Poorly inspected clothing priced for sale. One in four items has stains, holes or shows excessive wear. Messy. Clothing all over the floor. I have found a few treasures here, including a faux succulent terrarium and a huge candle holder I converted into a pendant lamp, but this is my least favorite thrift store in the area.
