Plato’s has always been a stop for us when we come to Appleton to shop. This was our first visit at the new location. I was able to find a couple cute things. Although this Plato’s has a lot to choose from (which is nice) I feel that many of their items are overpriced for the condition they are in. I could find either the same or similar items in better condition on websites like Depop for much less. Staff was fine- not overly welcoming or helpful, but not rude. I also think it kinda stinks that they don’t have a restroom for their customers to use. It’s a new, bigger location- it sucks to have to drive to the mall, then back to shop. Next time maybe I’ll just go straight to the mall.

If you have some time to spare in your day for some quick errands, make sure to not come to plato's closet whatsoever. If you have at least two hours of things needing to be done and have that additional time then I would suggest this place. Platos closet was one of the most unpleasant shopping experiences I've ever had in Appleton Wisconsin. From the staff not doing or knowing how to do the job correctly, to them taking time and time after looking over the clothes and items you bought in. Then the cherry on top, which is the owner responding to the some of the reviews, saying the same things over and over again to different people instead of providing a reasonable approach. I didn't come here looking for hundreds of dollars for the clothes I bought in, I expected being low balled and was okay with that. But the fact that the staff wasn't willing to take clothes because they are out of style is ridiculous to me. People go to Plato's closet solely out of the fact that it is more affordable optipon than most retail stores. Nobody is expecting something extremely pricey and insane at a Platos closet. They need to understand where they stand In the retail world and seriously reevaluate themselves as a brand. I can see this company completely failing in the next five years. Maybe then we will see if it's still in style.

I absolutely love Platos Closet. Not only do they have amazing clothing, but they take care of their customers. I went to the drop and got $10 off and a free drink from the coffee stand outside. Their new store looks so good, 10000/10 will recommend

I drove all the way from Minocqua to Appleton and decided to bring my clothes in since I was already making the long trip. I brought seven totes in total, and they only accepted three items. I was told my clothes “weren’t trendy or in style,” which was honestly surprising. I had items like a Free People dress purchased this year, a Free People Hot Shot romper, Freebird boots, and even pieces that still had Plato’s Closet tags from purchases made this year. What’s most frustrating is that it didn’t seem like they actually went through my totes at all; everything was still neatly folded when they handed them back. I completely understand not accepting everything, but I do expect a fair and thorough review of the items I brought in. Overall, this experience felt like a waste of time, especially after driving such a long distance. Based on this experience, it may be worth hiring more attentive staff or retraining current employees. In response to management: Thank you for your response, but it doesn't address my main concern. The items I brought in were returned in the exact same neatly folded condition, which makes it very difficult to believe they were thoroughly reviewed. I would appreciate some clarification on how my items were actually evaluated, because from my perspective, it did not appear that my totes were gone through in a meaningful way. Additionally, your response came across as defensive and somewhat dismissive rather than customer-focused. I understand that you process a high volume of items, but that doesn’t change the fact that my experience did not feel thorough or respectful of the time and effort it took to bring everything in. I’m simply asking for more transparency and a more professional acknowledgment.

Ok so it took at least 5 visit to make this review the MEN section in this store SUCKS and THEY DO NOT CARE. I even went so far as to ask them do they employ gentle to help pick out the clothing for the men because it was slim pickings and was told no by one young lady and then a rude young lady named MATTY jumped in and in a sarcastic tone to says good to know and owell. BASICALLY GET OVER IT. TO THE MEN THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR MONEY. No matter what they advertise as far as having good quality items for men THEY DONT it's absolute trash. Please do better teenage girls should not be picking what clothing men like to wear.
