the old lady with the mask seriously needs to work on those customer service skills! very disappointed because i had no issues with my time there up until i got to the check out counter. if you don’t like your job, quit! common sense.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. I’ve been going here for 15+ years and prices are drastically changed. The experience being the terrible for the last 4. Employees are extremely rude. The colored lady who works up front, and stocking, who wears a mask is the worst. She Said “excuse me” and proceeded to bump into me purposely. She didn’t want me to use an empty rack to organize my things by the fitting room and said “you can’t use that, I need that” as I was removing and organizing my things back into my cart. She walked away, didn’t even use the rack. They have always rudely refused to price unpriced merchandise, destroying items with crayon, and stapling price tags onto clothing, most of the time, ruining them. Prices are ridiculously high, for used and worn clothing. I won’t be going back. It makes me so sad to see this place take such a turn as it was a core memory going thrifting here as a child.

FIRE THE MEAN LADY THAT WEARS A MASK. Bad experience everytime when she’s working. Very very rude. Been going there for 15 years, and then last 3 Or so have been horrible. Everything has been so overpriced, and items are RUINED with the staples they use to price items… along with the crayons.. a friend I know offered to provide a real tagging gun so they don’t wreck perfectly good items with using a stapler. She refused. FIRE LADY WITH MASK.

I had a very disappointing experience at Fox Valley Thrift. The staff in the store came across as rude and disrespectful, which already made for an unpleasant visit. On top of that, the prices are way too high for a thrift store. What really pushed this experience over the edge was an electronic toy I purchased. I was told multiple times that it worked, and the way it was presented honestly felt like they were trying to convince me and push me into believing it worked. I trusted that and took the risk. It wasn’t cheap either—I paid around $90 for it. As soon as I got home, it didn’t work at all. It felt like the story completely changed once I was out of the store. I took a chance believing they were being honest with me, but that clearly wasn’t the case. When I called to let them know the item was not as described, I was simply told “sorry, no refunds.” I understand a no-refund policy for things like clothes, shoes, or household goods. But selling a $90 electronic item, claiming it works, convincing a customer it works, and then refusing to make it right when it clearly doesn’t is dishonest and a terrible business practice. I won’t be shopping here again.

Not a bad place overall. Most reviews are correct that it is dirty and overpriced (especially the women’s clothing). We have found some good items though! My biggest complaint is that they staple tags to the clothing with literal staples, which makes it a chore to take tags off after purchasing. Not only did it leave large holes in the clothing, nobody wants to spent 20 minutes taking tags off of their items when they get home!
