Lots of trails but not mowed and we gave up so we wouldn’t be eaten alive.

Nice trails around wetlands…ticks were out in abundance

Tick country in here. My friend and I started counting after 10. Walked to the observation tower and back. I found 62 ticks and he had 59. Besides that, it was a nice spot. Saw some wood ducks, yellow warblers, a green heron, and a large diversity of dragonfly species.

IMPORTANT: the trails indicated online and at the site are not fully maintained. We looked at the map and decided to follow the trail loop around the ponds. Half of that loop is not maintained. However nowhere does it tell you that. The overgrowth is high and there are many fallen logs hidden under the growth. They really should change the trail map to indicate the actual trail. Maybe if you are a regular here or live in the area you knew that. That being said, if you stick to the maintained trail it really is a lovely place for a bird walk.
