We were in Algoma for a family wedding. The wedding was in the late afternoon, so we were looking for something to do. We had heard about Von Stiehl wines and decided to check out the place where it is made. The winery was fascinating. The indoor tasting room is incredibly beautiful in its layout and decor. There is a wide variety of wines and spirits to choose from. They also have nice outdoor area with tables and chairs where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine. We shared a bottle of Sassy Sangria at one of the outdoor tables. It was a very peaceful and relaxing experience. The wine was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even have a play area for small children.

Outstanding service and a great band. I had hard apple cider. Your choice, a large glass for $6 OR a bottle. The band, Suzie and the detonators. High energy and played disco, pop, and 90s music. 8 community picnic tables outside and plenty of individual tables for 2 and 4. Some folks brought their own camping chairs.

Von Stiehl winery has been a winery I have trusted with constantly great wine for 20 plus yrs. What nice employees working and great yard to enjoy a glass of wine. First time in Algoma, look forward to going back.

We just stopped for a quick wine and spirits tasting. The staff member who helped us was wonderful and I wish I would have made sure to capture her name. Very, very sweet staff member and may our stop here even better. The wines and spirits here are top notch. Have had their wines before but it was so nice to get a tasting of even more of their wine a d spirits. Most defintely worth a stop. Their ports are soooo good! 🥰

Von Stiehl is hands-down the best winery in Door County—technically Kewaunee County, but they outshine them all. Their wines are consistently exceptional, with a balance and character that rival anything I’ve tasted across the country. I was heartbroken to hear their Frambois was discontinued—it was truly one of my all-time favorites—but every bottle I’ve tried from them has been outstanding. I’ve visited wineries from California to the East Coast, and I’d still rank Von Stiehl easily in my top ten nationwide. The quality, care, and craftsmanship are unmistakable, and the sense of history behind every bottle makes the experience even richer. Wisconsin should be proud to have a winery of this caliber—Von Stiehl is a true gem. Pictures include some of my first visits back in 2006 thru 'modern times'. Lol (and I WOULD PAY $50...or more, not sure what my ceiling would be...for a bottle of the aged-in-oak Frambois!! ☺️)
