12Bar KohMak is a Japanese restaurant in Ko Mak. We offer dishes like wagyu, seafood avocado salad, miso soups, kimchi, tuna sushi, and pork tonkatsu. Our menu also includes an avocado roll, salmon tartare, and yaki udon. We provide complimentary edamame and watermelon to conclude your meal.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel like VIPs.
The food was absolutely wonderful. You can tell they prioritize high-quality ingredients. We were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary edamame to start and refreshing watermelon to finish, which were such thoughtful touches.
What really blew us away was how they handled my mom’s birthday. They turned a simple dinner into something truly magical. They played "Happy Birthday" for her and staged a stunning, beautiful entrance for the desserts that left us all smiling.
We had a fantastic time and were genuinely amazed by the quality of the service and the cuisine. 10/10 would recommend!

Really good food quality. We had the waygu and seafood avacodo salad. Grilled vegetables, miso soups. Kimchi was so good. Everything was served very quick. Food was delicious. One comment would be, if a dish is all ready served with sides, then please explain that to save ordering extra duplicate sides.

A brillant dining experience in Koh Mak. The steak was really tasty and cooked perfectly. We also had the tuna sushi and pork tonkatsu which were also excellent. The service was great and we were given water and edamame beans as soon as we were seated. All round a great place to come for a meal whilst on the island.

If you’re looking for a place on Koh Mak that combines great presentation, quality food, and a beautiful setting, 12Bar is definitely a restaurant to try. It’s not cheap — in fact, it turned out to be the most expensive dinner I had on the island — but the quality and attention to detail make it worth considering for a special evening.
We ordered several dishes to share, and overall, everything ranged from good to excellent. The avocado roll was simply outstanding — fresh, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It’s the kind of dish that you could order twice and still enjoy just as much. The salmon tartare was on the same level, if not even better, beautifully seasoned with the right amount of acidity to highlight the flavor of the fish.
The yaki udon was another highlight — flavorful, well-cooked noodles with that perfect smoky touch that shows the chef knows what he’s doing. The breaded pork, on the other hand, was a bit tough, but the sauce that came with it added a really nice flavor and managed to lift the dish. It wasn’t bad at all, just not as impressive as the others.
For drinks, I tried the coconut shake, which was a bit disappointing — very plain in taste, lacking that rich coconut flavor that makes this drink stand out elsewhere. Still, it was refreshing enough to go with the meal.
A very nice detail was the complimentary slices of watermelon they serve at the end. It’s a small gesture, but one that leaves a good impression — light, refreshing, and a perfect way to finish a big meal.
The environment is idyllic — the restaurant is clean, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by tropical greenery, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. You can tell they’ve put thought into every detail, from the lighting to the layout.
As for the price, it’s definitely on the higher end for Koh Mak. Our dinner, which included all the dishes mentioned, came to 1,350 bahts. While that might sound expensive for the island, it’s fair considering the quality of the ingredients, the care in the preparation, and the overall dining experience.
