Walk around giant rocks and use ropes for support on steep steps
I was here in the middle of May. There was only the tiniest trickle of water. So nothing to see. But you can walk around on the giant rocks which was fun That's why I gave it 2 stars. Be careful on the steps going down they are steep.
I was there on 11 April, and it was almost dry. Just a very small thread of water and no running river after; just a lagoon. The access path is challenging for less physical ready people, it is really steep. I was carrying my baby that weights around 13kg, and was able to do the entire path while keeping him sleeping, but my 68 years old mother did not risk and some young in their 30s did not risk to go down the steep stairs. Bottom line short: I was disappointed with what I saw, but was extremely happy with the physical challenge.
Easy to get to with a moped, there's a short steep section to reach the falls. This would be an amazing visit during wet season, even in the dry it was pretty good.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4-Star Review — Khlong Yai Kee Waterfall Khlong Yai Kee Waterfall is a beautiful and peaceful spot, and definitely one of the must-visit attractions in Koh Kood. It’s easy to find with clear signs on the road, and there is a small parking area for both scooters and cars. From the parking lot, the walk down is fully built with cement and sheeted steps, but it’s a steep descent all the way. There are ropes for support and you really need to watch your step — don’t get distracted by the sound of the stream while walking. At the bottom there’s a wooden viewing platform that can hold several people and gives a good look at the waterfall, which is around 30 meters ahead. Due to past storms, some tree branches partially block the view from the platform. For a clearer view, some people cross the stream to sit directly in front of the waterfall. The water was about two feet deep during our visit and flowing fast, so please be very careful if you plan to cross. Not a big waterfall, but absolutely pretty and so refreshing to visit. The natural setting and peacefulness make it one of the most enjoyable spots on the island. Safety Tips: • Steps are steep — hold the rope and go slowly. • Wear proper footwear with grip (floaters / water sandals are better than flip-flops). • Avoid crossing the stream if the water is high or fast flowing. Highly recommended if you’re exploring Koh Kood — a great mix of nature, calmness and scenic beauty.
Really nice waterfall we went in May and the waterfall was full from the rain and you can even climb up and jump off the waterfall, we jumped off from the side, but the pool is very deep! There are many steep steps down to this waterfall as well which may make it hard for some individuals to get back up so keep that in mind! There are little fish in here that bite your skin on your legs which I didn’t like but some people were loving it- that’s the main reason I didn’t give this waterfall 5 stars!
