Klong Chao is the largest waterfall on the island and definitely worth visiting. Google Maps will take you to the entrance, where you’ll find a small ranger station and a short brick pathway. I recommend walking from there, especially during the rainy season. After the brick path, the trail becomes muddy and slippery (I visited in June), and you’ll eventually reach the lower part of the waterfall. From there, you’ll see ropes that help guide the way, but you’ll still need to climb over quite a few rocks to get closer to the falls. There isn’t a proper trail for the final section, so wearing good hiking shoes with decent grip is highly recommended. During the rainy season, the pool beneath the waterfall is full of cool water, perfect for a refreshing swim. A fun historical fact: the waterfall is said to be named after an event involving a Nguyễn Dynasty king of Đại Nam, who once sought refuge near this area.
