I’ve visited Plato branches throughout South Africa and consistently enjoyed their coffee, so I was disappointed by this location. I ordered a cappuccino but the milk was extremely foamy and cold, while the espresso itself was slightly weak. When I mentioned this to the staff they took my cup back, after I’d already taken a sip, and reheated it using the steam wand. I found this a bit unhygienic especially given that the same wand is used to froth milk for other customers’ drinks. That said, based on my experiences at other Plato locations, I’d still definitely recommend the chain overall, though this particular visit fell short of the standard I’ve come to expect.
