What a lovely restaurant, the inside looks really cozy and outside gives you great views. This place has a lovely ambience. I found what I ordered to be delicious (which was a type of sliced steak) despite it not being very filling for me. However, you do get some yummy breads to start your dining experience off. My only feedback is that there are too many things on the menu which 1) must make it difficult to execute every dish properly and 2) makes it difficult to know what their speciality is. The price to portion ratio might also feel off for some but we ordered some chips on the side which helped. Regardless, the location and the very kind and warm service as well as the delicious red wine from that farm makes for a really cozy and great experience. I’m keen to try their pizza’s next time and definitely recommend this place!

Although the restaurant has a fantastic view, the spaghetti was undercooked and overly salty. I should have had an indication of the food quality by the state of the vines as we drove in. They were overgrown with weeds and the entrance needed some TLC as well. What was perhaps a prime spot in its day, is unfortunately not up to scratch. The menu was also badly laid out, and not even a lasagna for an Italian restaurant. Anyway, I hope they can elevate things and restore what seemed to be a lovely spot back in the day!

We visited for dinner only. I ordered the Ostrich Carpaccio and hubby had the snails. His choice was better. I would have liked more of a sauce than just the lemon to squeeze on the carpaccio. For main course I ordered the cheese filled Ravioli with exotic mushrooms and my husband ordered the Wagyu cheeks on mash. Once again his was the better option. The edges of the ravioli pockets were a little dry but still very tasty. I just feel that only 7 pieces of ravioli as a main course is a little on the small side for me. Hubby’s portion was also on the small side considering that it costs R270. The meat was super tasty and melt in the mouth soft. The mash was creamy and the perfect match for the cheeks & gravy. For dessert I ordered the coffee parfait with honey and almonds and my husband had the ice cream. His was unfortunately for me again the better choice. The coffee parfait was quite bitter and I could not see or taste the honey to counter the bitterness of the coffee. Fortunately my husband shared some of his ice cream with me to bring in a little sweetness to my choice of dessert. We enjoyed the view and the atmosphere and the very friendly serving staff. Bibeana (?) is a star! As we live very close to Capelands, we will be back to give it another try in future.

This restaurants position is well placed for a memorable eating experience. Our meals were prepared with that Italian flavour / taste which gives their meals that extra excitement. The service was personal and caring. Sadly the quantity was lacking and this was disappointing particularly as the generosity of an Italian meal is usually a key feature. The range of sweets was also disappointing...would have liked to seen more Italian puddings e.g.cassata.

Didn't stay in the guest cottages on this lovely wine farm but made reservations for supper with a friend. Situated on the outskirts of Somerset West, the restaurant overlooks the farm vineyards with views of the ocean and mountains in the distance. Staff were professional and very friendly. We chose to sit on the terrace, it was a beautiful summer evening so it was the obvious choice. Magic happens as the sun sets, try it for yourself. For cooler winter eats, the indoor restaurant looks cosy with a fireplace and the promise of an intimate and different dining experience. The menu offers authentic Italian dishes and staff were adept at explaining the intricacies of each. Our food was superb, herbs and veg grown on the farm organically, prepared with heart and perfection. I loved the homemade ravioli, quite delightful. Wine served is their own. Good food, wonderful staff, and a welcoming part-of-the-family feeling make this a special experience. Can't wait to go back.
