About

Lakeside Brewing Co is a brewery in Cape Town. We craft beer that blends wheat, hops, and barley, inspired by long hikes and salty air. Our beers are made for enjoying with friends in the outdoors, with different brews created for various adventures. We also offer food like burgers, and have a children's play area. Our journey began in the suburb of Lakeside, Cape Town, and we acquired our brewery in Kommetjie, Cape Town, in 2012, becoming a commercially available brand in the brewing industry.

Saw this place online and wanted to try it for the first time. When we walked in there was no one to help us or say hello so we were kind of a bit lost. Two waiters walked past us and didn’t say anything. Luckily we found the sign board which tells you to order at the bar. Ordered our drinks and food and sat down. The table we were at hadn’t been cleaned and some glasses and tissues from the previous patrons just stayed on our table throughout. Enjoyed the IPA beers and I don’t think they are badly priced. Our food took 50 minutes and my chips were cold. Smash burger was underwhelming and bit burnt. I thought it was a bit sad for the price. Other than that the weather was good and the farm is a nice break from the city, with some geese and nice views. There’s also a place for children to play. Bathrooms were a bit dark and grimy. The vibe is rustic so I guess that is what they are going for. PS if you sit outside be aware that people are allowed to smoke there and you may get smoked out while enjoying your meal.

Very nice place that is tucked out of the way. Had a beer and the burger, which was decent. I would revisit

This was my first visit, but with the warmth of welcome, I felt like I had arrived home from a sabbatical. The mead tasting was a gem of a treat. Included in the tasting was a very well rounded gin. Although, even chilled, it seemed it could use an additional distillation. The best chili poppers I've had in a long time.
