Peaceful, beautiful, and soul-restoring We found a small piece of heaven tucked away in Montagu. The Nature Garden is not a manicured show garden - it's a living, breathing Karoo garden with a soul. Gravel paths wind past indigenous fynbos, a cool stream flows through refreshing shade, and little dams and lawns invite you to sit and picnic. It's quiet, immaculate, full of birds, bees and wildflowers, and so close to town. The curators keep it with such love. If you need to breathe, to slow down, to let your children explore safely - go here. An absolute must-visit in Montagu.

A delightful day immersed in nature with the family, savoring a pleasant stroll and a picnic. Clean and beautiful. Friendly staff that are welcoming.

A little hidden gem in Montagu. Spectacular views and no real admission fee except an honesty box for a donation. Awesome hike of 2km to have a superb view of the area.

It's a wonderful place to take a walk or relax in a natural environment. The garden is delightful and there are a wide variety of local plants on show in a peaceful space. Not crowded at all, and it's easy to navigate the well-marked paths. Wheelchair users might have some difficulty but could get around with assistance. There is also a museum on site bt check whether it's open before you go.

We planted a tree in remembrance of my wife, Sandy, late brother. Hugo, the curator of the nature garden took us around and showed us the tree. Looks absolutely fantastic and growing beautifully. Hugo is so passionate about these Gardens and Montagu as well. He is an absolute inspiration to the local area. Always makes you feel so welcome. Highly recommend a visit.
