Cellar1848 is a wedding venue in Montagu, situated in a valley of vineyards and orchards. Our historic family cellar dates back over 200 years and can host 100 to 120 guests. Our family-run vineyard farm features an expansive lawn area with mountain views for ceremonies and pre-drinks. We offer in-house catering tailored to various preferences. Accommodation is available on our family-owned farm in the Baden Valley, located 5km outside Montagu.

Celler 1848 is truly one of the most exceptional venues I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you arrive, you’re met with absolutely breathtaking views that set the tone for something special. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, creating the perfect balance for any occasion. What really stands out is the people — warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which makes the whole experience even more memorable. Everything about this place feels thoughtfully put together, and it’s clear why it stands out as such a prolific and memorable venue. Highly recommended — Celler 1848 is in a league of its own!

Great venue with awesome atmosphere. Food was good too. Do check the location before heading there, there is no signage to direct you from the main route.

Rustic wedding venue with stunning views just on the outskirts of the quaint town of Montagu. The food is delicious and there is a variety of wine on offer. There are plenty of really friendly comfortable guest houses in Montagu to stay the night.
