We had such a beautiful evening at Spilsbury’s in Franschhoek. The food was excellent, thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor, with a menu that really showcases fresh, local ingredients. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. What made the experience even more memorable was the cooking class we joined. Nicola, the chef, guided us through the preparation of the dishes with great charm and knowledge. She created a warm, engaging atmosphere and shared her expertise in a way that was both fun and inspiring. The atmosphere overall was welcoming and relaxed, perfect for an enjoyable evening. Highly recommended if you’re in Franschhoek and looking for outstanding food, a unique experience, and a truly lovely location.

Amazing experience! Loved every second of it, from the warm welcome to desert and all the cooking, laughs, dancing, learning and camaraderie in between. Nicola has built a magical place and Rosie is a sweetheart. Will be back many times for sure

What a memorable and great time we had with Nicola ! We (a group of 6 people) made a South African diner, from starter to dessert, including vegetables curry, chicken and beef recipe. We did of course eat our preparation. I have no word to describe it, except delicious from A to Z. Nicola is full of energy, funny, joyful and a top chef ! Please if you are around in Franckhhoek, please go and visit her ! From my two weeks in South Africa, this is the most fantastic souvenir !!!! I will come back Nicola 😉😉!!!

Spent a memorable, educational and enjoyable afternoon cooking with Nicola. We were a group of just two, but got to make no fewer than three main dishes, two sides, salad, bread and dessert. Left very full of good food and new ideas to share flavors of South Africa with friends back home. Nicola is an amazing teacher keeping things light and playful. 100% recommend!

An incredible experience - a must do while in Franschhoek!! Nicola and Belinda were great hosts and kept the bubbly/wine flowing throughout. The food was traditional South African food with a twist and was absolutely delicious! Our favourite dish was the babootie. We had the experience all to ourselves and had a candlelit dinner at the end. We also bought great quality items from the shop. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
