The displays in the museum are quite explanatory and well-designed. Our tour leader hired a guide for us who was perhaps too informative and we were standing and not walking much for a long time. I broke away to find a bench. It was inconvenient that the only apparent rest room was across the street. Apart from these inconveniences, it was a worthwhile museum.

Just a great historical museum down Main Street Franschoek. You have to buy tickets at the annex on the other side of the street, but definitely worth a visit (30-45mins max).

Absolutely brilliant chronological order layout of the history. The 3 museums are inviting and informative, and the exhibitions are excellently presented. It is one of the best museums in South Africa. The monument itself it well maintained, and the gardens are kept to perfection.
