We visited Tiger’s Milk in Camps Bay for a birthday lunch and overall had a lovely experience. The location is absolutely spectacular, and we were fortunate to sit downstairs right on the edge with the winter sun on us and beautiful ocean views — hard to beat on a perfect winter Camps Bay day. The food was excellent. We ordered the steak and prawn combo, a burger, and a pizza. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and generous in portion size — the pizza was huge, yet so good we finished it all. The only disappointment was the service. It was noticeably slow and lacked attentiveness, which took away from the overall experience. Great food and unbeatable location, but service needs improvement to match the setting.

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience for a restaurant in such a fantastic location. To be fair, our original server was friendly, polite, and did his best to help throughout the evening. The issues seemed to stem more from the kitchen and overall management than from the service we received from him. The food was underwhelming. The nachos were acceptable but lacked flavour, while the barbecue ribs were disappointingly tough and far from the fall-off-the-bone texture we expected. The biggest issue was the extremely slow service. Our visit lasted around 2.5 hours in total, including more than an hour waiting for takeaway brownies after we had already finished our meal. We had paid the bill and were still waiting for dessert. When the dessert finally arrived, it was not what had been advertised or what we had paid for. The menu described brownies sandwiched with ice cream, marshmallow, and caramel popcorn. Instead, we received two plain brownies with some caramel popcorn. After raising this with the manager, they returned from the kitchen with the same box and a separate cup of partially melted ice cream. The manager simply commented, “Sorry, the ice cream is a bit melted,” before sending us on our way. Not only was the ice cream melted, but the marshmallow component was still missing entirely. By that point, we had already spent far too much of our evening waiting and decided to leave rather than continue the discussion. The staff appeared overstretched, and the management did little to resolve the situation. It’s a shame, as the location is excellent, but the overall experience fell well below expectations. Based on our visit, I would recommend that tourists consider other dining options nearby.

A lovely spot upstairs on the balcony with a lot of sun and a cool breeze. It took awhile for the food and drinks to come but they were busy and the server was great. I got the fish sandwich and it was delightful. Plus of course South African beer. A great spot for a really nice lunch.

The Superstay.io Team loves Tiger's Malk in Camps Bay. We regularly have functions here, and we, as a team and both individually with our families, love spending a lazy afternoon here or an eventful evening. The drinks are cold and flow freely, and their food is fantastic. You can't do better for views anywhere in Cape Town. The staff are very friendly, and most notably, Happiness is my favourite waitress. Don't give this a miss.
