Interesting fact: This is my first home, I lived here with my Mom, Aunt, Uncle and my Grandparents from May 1969 until June 1976. Thereafter we moved to Green Point, 16 Cobern Street where my Mom was already staying after she had married my Dad, Basil, which was my Grandfather's family home. My Grandfather was the caretaker of the church and I think they lived here from 1962 already! I have great memories of growing up here and in the Gestig NG Kerk,,,

It also preserves a group of extremely valuable cultural, social and architectural structures that has a rich personal meaning and historical value for a significant part of the citizens of Cape Town and surrounding areas. It tells a very significant and important part of the story of the complex interactions amongst the various cultural, ethnic, social and religious groups and communities throughout the history of the City of Cape Town and its diverse peoples. It is well worth a visit or two or...........!
