Not happy to write this. I used to really enjoy coming here during my leave with my friends and family. The atmosphere felt warm and community-oriented, and tennis was genuinely fun in that environment. With Kenny gone - the positive space is gone. Since the change in ownership, though, things have gone downhill. The new lady and man in charge are rude and show no real interest in tennis or fostering any sense of community and the place has lost all its heart. Really disappointing. Hope it gets its spark back.

This place used to be such a vibe when Kenny managed it. It was easy going, Kenny had a love for tennis and made it a warm and fun environment to play tennis. However, now, its changed hands. New management/owners are rude, payment is difficult. The soul has been taken out of the place. What a shame.

I had the best time at Green Point Tennis Club earlier this afternoon, Saturday 11th April 2026. For context, it was during my first visit to South Africa and Cape Town from the UK with my family. I play doubles at district level for a wonderful and friendly club in the UK and wanted to play at a similar club in Cape Town. A lovely lady called Uyanda was very helpful at reception. I received the warmest of welcomes from other players and was able to play both singles and doubles matches. I was able to hire a decent racket, balls and a court for a reasonable price and the club accommodated me at very short notice and allowed me to pay in cash after another club had insisted on payment via an app that UK residents simply cannot access. Very grateful to have played tennis during my time in Cape Town. Thank you to Greenpoint Tennis Club 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Visited this tennis club on a Thursday afternoon. The courts were all empty but the staff member working there was quite unfriendly and making it unnecessarily hard for us to simply pay, enter and play. The card machine was not working so visitors must use snapscan or pay in cash. It is R75 per person for 1 hour. I believe it is another R75 to hire a tennis racket. There are tennis balls to buy/hire too. But it’s probably more worthwhile in the long run to bring your own equipment. The reception space is quite run down but the courts are decently maintained. Parking is free of charge.

Loads of courts here... Good club house and a shower too. The social sessions are open to visitors at 50 rand a go, or you can join for a month for 250 rand. If you're having a hard time getting a response to emails to the club, just turn up at a social (it's manned) and ask your questions. The head coach, Carmen, is fantastic. If you want to fast forward your game, get some lessons in.. I've leaped forward after just a couple of lessons. There's also a ball machine you can rent.
