I had a fantastic experience at the Cape Town Diamond Museum at the V&A Waterfront! Right upon arrival, I was welcomed by a lovely host named Wendy, who led a brilliant tour covering the rich history of diamonds, their discovery, and their evolution over time. Getting to see everything from rough stones to masterfully cut diamonds—and even stepping into the processing workshop to handle real diamonds—was a highlight. It’s a brief, highly informative experience, making Shimansky an absolute must-visit in Cape Town. Be sure to ask for Wendy!

I arrived at the Cape Town Diamond Museum located at the V&A Waterfront for a tour of the place. I was quickly attended to by a lovely lady called Wendy, who took me through the fascinating history of diamonds, how they were discovered and how they have evolved through time. I was shown rough diamonds, perfectly cut diamonds, and even the workshop where the diamonds are processed. I also got the chance to touch real diamonds! It was a brief but very informative tour, and Shimansky is definitely a must-visit whenever you are in Cape Town. Also, ask for Wendy!

The tour was brilliant. We had a personal tour guide named Shaheema, who is a jewellery specialist. She was iNCREDIBLE! Very knowledgable and friendly. She made the entire tour very enjoyable.

I had a great experience at the Cape Town Diamond Museum. The tour was very informative — we learned a lot about the history of diamonds in South Africa and how the industry developed over time.  They also showed some rare and impressive exhibits, including beautiful stones and replicas of famous diamonds, which made the visit even more interesting.  Special thanks to our guide Wendy — she made the tour engaging and easy to follow. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful tour by Mean Swart. We learned so much about the history of diamond mining. It was amazing to feel and hold raw diamonds. It was hard to leave without purchasing because we loved it all. Worth the tour!
