We just returned from an incredible 2 week trip to South Africa that began with Pam of Cape Fusion Tours recommending our agenda for Cape Town, visits along the coast, and the wine country. My wife and I have done extensive work-related travel all around the world, including living in Africa, and in our recent retirement wanted to see what we missed during our working life. This trip not only did not disappoint, but also had us experiencing new adventures in beautiful South Africa. Pam showed us the ins and outs of Cape Town with standouts being Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens (beautiful place), outstanding food (too many choices to mention - but especially loved "Seven Colours Eatery" at the V&A Waterfront - don't miss it!), and Bo-Kaap (the Malay Quarter) in Cape Town. There is much more, including wine country, and Pam quickly "figured us out" and was flexible with plans so that we could see and experience our interests. We would have never experienced so much had we done this on our own. If you plan to visit Cape Town for a few days, we highly recommend Cape Fusion Tours (and Pam, who was absolutely fun and delightful) to get the most out of your vacation.

We had the best day out with Lisa on a foodie tour around Cape Town. Lisa was AMAZING! She made us feel right at home and was so knowledgeable about the secret foodie spots. We tried some delicious food from the local markets & restaurants and finished with a gin tasting experience at a local gin bar. Time flew by and it was the perfect mix of sight seeing, food tasting and relaxing. Thank you Lisa - we will absolutely be back! See you soon! 🥰 Tara & Tom

What more can I say about the greatness of Cape Fusion Tours? We first booked a Cape Town Eats tour for our first trip to South Africa in February 2020. You can also find that review on TripAdvisor. Five years later and we’re on our third round of tours with Pam. This time, we brought family with us to experience it all. We booked two private tours – a food tour and a tour of the peninsula. Both were amazing. Day 1: Updated Cape Town Eats tour – When Pam arrived to pick us up for this tour, she said the sky is blue and conditions on Table Mountain are perfect. She suggested we rearrange the day slightly and sneak in a cable ride up the mountain while we could. YES! We ate our way around our first stop (Oranjezicht market), then booked express passes for the Table Mountain cable car. We love the flexibility we have while on a private tour. We had previously mentioned our hope to get in a Table Mountain visit during our stay – we just weren’t sure if/when we could fit it in. Unsurprisingly, Pam found a way. After about an hour on the mountain, we made our way down and continued the food tour. In all we visited at least 5 different places all around Cape Town. She tailored the tour to the varied appetites in our group – from no game meat to low gluten – she handled it all without missing a beat. Almost all of the places we visited were different from our first tour five years ago. The only “complaint” I have is too much food!! Ha Ha. Every place we visited had amazing foods to try. As usual, Pam was warmly welcomed wherever we went. Yes, she seems to know everyone in South Africa and they love her as much as we do!! Day 2: Peninsula tour – On our second day with Pam, we decided to tour the peninsula her way – relaxed and chill. We told Pam we loved to walk, and she made sure we had opportunities wherever we went. For example, we hiked from the lighthouse to the Cape of Good Hope. Pam drove to the bottom with one member of our party that wasn’t up for a hike. We never felt rushed. All in all it was a wonderful day filled with sightseeing, shopping and eating. We highly recommend Cape Fusion Tours. We’ve met some of her other tour guides along the way (Ryan, Shelly) and they are just as genuine and energetic as Pam.

Let’s get the details out of the way right up front. Cape Fusion Tours follows all COVID protocols, it is well priced, communicates well with its client base, and its employees are reliable, honest, and on time. Now, down to the more personal side of things… Cape Fusion Tours was an extremely fortunate find! Little did I know when I Googled “Culinary Tour Cape Town” that I would find the answer to most of my questions and wishes for our Cape Town vacation. When I clicked on the search result, I found Cape Fusion’s web site to be a bit different from that of other tour companies. There are not “click here to reserve” or other formulaic features. It simply tells the story of the company, its people, and what it has to offer in terms of helping you fall in love with Cape Town. The site also offers guidance on touring in Cape Town and other information that visitors would find helpful (no strings attached). If one of Cape Fusion Tour’s offerings appeals to you, it is easy to contact the company and ask whatever questions you have (pricing, availability, potential tour “tweaks” that might be possible, advice, etc…). When I contacted the company via email, I was answered by Cape Fusion Tours’ owner and founder - Pamela. She not only answered all of my questions promptly, she also offered advice for other things I might want to do while in Cape Town. When we decided to book with her company, she ensured that she was aware of all our preferences and interests so that we could get what we wanted out of the tour – it was tailored to us! Also, when other arrangements (with other companies) I had made for tours fell through, she offered solutions and guidance and helped us find an alternative so that our vacation would not be derailed. I must admit that I sent her far too many emails. However, she answered each quickly and graciously. We were only in Cape Town for a short while, but booked Cape Fusion Tours for two, full day tours. I am so glad we did! Our tour guide for each of the tours was Ryan. Ryan is not only very knowledgeable, he is kind, conscientious, approachable, and (best of all) flexible. It is apparent that Ryan enjoys his job, loves Cape Town, and works for an organization that values people and experiences over money and cookie cutter tours. We connected with Ryan almost immediately and I assume that all of his guests do – he’s just that kind of guy. Though COVID has slammed the hospitality and tourism industry, Cape Fusion Tours has ensured that the accommodations it must make to “remain afloat” during these trying times have not adversely affected the product and service it provides. If I am ever fortunate enough to find myself back in Cape Town, Cape Fusion Tours will be my first call.

You cannot find a better way to experience Cape Town - the name "Cape Fusion" is quite accurate - they fuse in all of the different aspects of Cape Town and our day tour was jam-packed! We met up with Pam & her team in collaboration with Hills of Africa Travel and we experienced everything that Cape Town has to offer: history, food, diversity, shopping, more food, chocolate, gin, more shopping at small community shops & more! We started with a bacon croissant and pasteis de nata from cult baker Jason from Jason’s Bakery while we were on top of signal hill. The Pasteis de Nata became part of the fabric of South Africa due to a combo of Portuguese immigrants from Mozambique and Portugal to South Africa. We then ventured to the Bo-Kaap area (again, such a rich history) and met Wardia - an amazing woman with amazing cooking skills - her samosas, a chilli bites, milk tarts & koesisters are a staple items of the Cape Malay community. Shopping at Monkey Biz was also fun - creative trinkets crafted by amazing local woman. We also had a chocolate tasting Honest Chocolate, and a gin tasting at Cape Town Gin Company (SO tasty). One of the highlights was a visit with Chef Sandile for some down home soul food African food on the Station Roof - he is the real deal & was so gracious & informative.. and the food - yowza! We had pap (white thick porridge), samp & beans (Food of the Xhosa and Nelson Madela), Sandiles famous beef stew and his chakalaka (chilli relish that is a great compliment to the food!) We then popped into Truth Coffee Cult - this place is steam punk on steroids with amazing coffee, community and more. We finished at Seabreeze Fish and Shell for some bubbles & oysters. Chef Alex stopped by our table for a chat - he and his wife have created an amazing space. Bottom line - if you are visiting Cape Town -...you MUST tour with Cape Fusion Tours - you'll be missing out! One thing we DID miss out due to the windy weather was the funicular at Table Mountain - I'll just need to come back!
