It seems these facilities are part of a group of three properties in Camps Bay — including African Groove Hotel, African Beachwood, and what appears to be Sun&Sans — all managed by the same people. If that’s the case, I would strongly suggest avoiding all of them if you want peace of mind. We booked this place thinking we were getting good value for being in Camps Bay. However, after reading more reviews online, it seems like a common practice for management to cancel your reservation through Booking.com and then charge you directly on arrival. By doing that, you lose your rights and protections as a customer through Booking.com. You’re essentially left dealing with them directly, and you may not even receive proper receipts or invoices for your stay. The facilities were not great overall but okay. The kitchen was closed every morning when we woke up, which was very inconvenient. There was also an incident one night where another guest was locked outside because her key card wasn’t working. We spent around 10 minutes with her repeatedly trying both her card and ours before it finally worked — but we were all stuck outside in the wind in the middle of the night in Camps Bay. If you’re looking for a smooth and stress-free stay, I would recommend avoiding this place.
