We dined at Osaka Great atmosphere- it doesn’t feel like you’re in South Africa. Plenty of customers dining closely beside you as the tables are quite close to each other. We didn’t mind that- we thought it added to the vibe. The chairs and tables are quite used/ old and seating heights of the chairs in both dining areas don’t match the table height and can be uncomfortable at times, but that did not detract from our evening. I do feel that the runners are well trained and the waitresses need a little bit of brushing up on the cocktail menu. The food, really was tops. The sliders had a perfectly toasted bun and the tacos were a game changer as the diced tuna was served chilled and super fresh! All in all our best dinner in CT these weekend and would recommend.

We were a group of 8 ladies dining at Asoka mid-week in winter, and the restaurant was fully booked - so making a reservation is a must. Our waitress was phenomenal! Attentive without being a pest, accommodating, and knew the menu inside out! Our orders were correctly taken and served. Every single dish we ordered, we enjoyed, and not one dish was not recommended by the friends. My favorite was the goat's cheese croquettas, the Thai vegetable yellow curry and grilled ostrich fillet. Such a vibe in the restaurant! I highly recommend this spot!

Apologies for the honest review below but… Atmosphere: Incredible, something out of a movie! ✨ Food: It wasn’t as mind blowing as the menu made it seem. I would say it was quite average in taste but the presentation was rather phenomenal. Service: Table spacing (too close to table beside, felt almost squashed- making it difficult to have a conversation as other customers were extremely close), also there was an unrealistically long waiting time waiting for food to arrive. Drinks: Mediocre and overpriced. Best part about the evening was the live band, the centrepiece tree, the lighting, and the beautiful atmosphere, I have never seen anything like it, truly amazing aesthetics. The bathrooms were so beautiful and clean as well. Advice: More spacing between tables, allow for a better view of the band, improve on waiting time before/between meals.

Beautiful establishment, jazz band was good. Cocktail was amazing. Good wine selection. Food was hit and miss. Service was acceptable though the manager had made us feel uncomfortable for taking a cell phone call. No it wasn’t a loud call.

I recently dined at Asoka Restaurant and opted for the 3-course menu at R295 per person — incredible value for such a thoughtfully curated experience. The selection was genuinely impressive, to the point where choosing was a challenge because every option sounded just as delicious as the next. Each dish arrived vibrant and colorful, with flavors that felt both refined and satisfying. The cocktails were crisp, refreshing, and beautifully executed — the perfect complement to the meal. What truly elevates the experience, though, is the ambiance. The decor is stunning, with a warm, intimate setting that creates a romantic mood. There’s an undeniable aura to the space that makes it ideal for date nights or special evenings out. A beautifully balanced dining experience that feels both elevated and accessible.
