Our recent 10-night journey with African Bush Camps across Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe was nothing short of exceptional. From the planning stage to our final farewell, every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for, and we enjoyed every minute of the experience. We would like to begin by thanking Ross and Tyler, who handled the planning and logistics of our trip. They were incredibly kind, responsive and accommodating, taking the time to understand exactly what we wanted from our safari experience and ensuring every detail was thoughtfully arranged. In Botswana, our guide Taylor (Dite) at Linyati Bush Camp was truly outstanding. His passion, professionalism and dedication were evident every day. We had requested early pick-ups, and he made sure to get us from our lodge at exactly when we wanted. His knowledge of the bush was remarkable, and his determination to seek out wildlife led to some unforgettable sightings (lions, hyenas and wild dogs!). It was clear how deeply he cares about both the animals and the guest experience. We are incredibly grateful for the time we spent with him. We would also like to thank Chef Yum Yum, who took the time to learn our food preferences and thoughtfully tailored meals throughout our stay. In Zambia, Philip was an exceptional guide with incredibly sharp eyes and a wonderful sense of humour. He shared his culture and knowledge so generously, making our stay both educational and memorable. Racheal was a warm and gracious host who ensured every aspect of our stay ran smoothly. Victor also deserves special recognition. We had mentioned that we preferred half portions because the meals were so generously sized and we wanted to avoid food waste. Remarkably, he remembered this preference throughout our stay without needing reminders. We were also delighted by Maize from the gift shop, whose beautiful singing voice welcomed guests so warmly that we simply had to find out who it belonged to. In Zimbabwe, our experience at Somalisa was equally memorable. Uncle Richard's passion for managing the facilities and staff and caring for guests shone through in every interaction. Tino always greeted us with a ready smile and clearly took great pride in creating a wonderful experience for guests. Craig was attentive, thoughtful and always willing to help. We were especially touched that Philip from our previous camp had asked us to pass on greetings to Calvert, the Head Guide. Despite not being assigned to us, Calvert came over personally to greet us, which reflected the warmth and camaraderie of the team. The other guides were knowledgeable and full of good humour. A special thank you also goes to Chef Lily, whose meals were consistently outstanding. We were truly spoilt by the quality, variety and care that went into every dish. We would also like to recognise Sandi and Nyasha from the housekeeping team at Somalisa. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly and comfortably throughout our stay. Sandi's beautiful singing was an added delight that brought even more warmth to the camp. What stood out most throughout our journey was the genuine hospitality of the people. Every camp felt welcoming, every staff member took pride in their work, and every interaction felt sincere. The wildlife sightings were incredible, but it was the people who made this trip truly unforgettable. Thank you to everyone at African Bush Camps for such a wonderful experience.
