Ballito Portuguese restaurant with a variety of fresh seafood
Good food, went there twice, although the linguine was swimming in so much sauce that it wasn't lekker by end of the meal. Speaker was too close & loud, they need to spread speakers over an area instead of one speakers covering a whole section. Service good and food generally good.
I have given this restaurant multiple chances, hoping to see improvement, but unfortunately each visit has been worse than the last. What began as a weak experience has declined into something deeply disappointing. At this point, it is difficult to see how the restaurant can continue on its current trajectory. The staff are consistently polite and friendly, which I appreciate. However, the overall operation feels disorganized and lacking direction. There appears to be little coordination or leadership, which ultimately impacts the entire dining experience. Most concerning is the quality of the food. It is not simply inconsistent, it is poor. The prawns, in particular, were unacceptable! Please also refrain from responding with a generic, copy-and-paste apology. That effort would be better spent addressing the evident issues in both the kitchen and service. I am more than willing to pay higher prices when dining out, but in return I expect a corresponding level of quality in the food, the service, and the overall experience. That standard is currently not being met. While I would genuinely feel sorry for the staff should they lose their jobs if the restaurant closes, the current decline makes that outcome seem increasingly likely. In its present state, this restaurant falls well short of expectations.
I had booked our Christmas lunch as I wanted to experience something different this year. Thankfully, the Staff and the Cuisine at Beira Alta Ballito did not disappoint. We were amazed and the speed of the Kitchen staff and waitrons to prepare out meals timeously even though the venue was filled. We will obviously be returning in the future. I 100% would recommend Beira Alta Ballito to everyone for a delectable meal accompanied by amazing ambience
My first time visiting this restaurant, and it was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, just everything was exceeding my expectations. The ambiance was so pleasant, the manager had such an incredible personality when he visited our table to check on things. Our waiter was great. But the food, chef's kiss! The flavors were outstanding, the presentation was great and overall will definitely be visiting again. I opted for the surf and turf whilst my partner opted for the half chicken in hot. My steak was done exactly how I like it and the prawns were done perfectly. The chicken was very spicy but so good. So if you love your heat, go for that spice!
Beira Alta always pulls through with delicious food and its mouth-watering Portuguese flavors. Once you've got a taste, it's hard not to go back. Food: Lemon Butter Grilled Calamari, Trinchado, Chicken and Chourico Linguine, Chicken Prego, Mom's Pan Fried Prawns, Steak À Beira Alta. Drinks: Rock Shandy and a Long Island Iced Tea. The ambience is amazing. Love the new look.
