Worser Bay Boating Club is an amazing place to experience Wellington’s powerful coastal landscape and sea energy. The building itself sits dramatically right on the edge of the coastline, extending out toward the water and creating a unique feeling of being surrounded by the harbour from multiple directions. What impressed me most was not only the boating club architecture, but how the structure interacts with the waves, wind, rocks, and shoreline. The large concrete boat ramps, seawalls, and natural rocks together create constantly changing wave patterns. Standing here watching the sea movement is fascinating — waves collide, reflect, and reshape themselves depending on the wind and tide direction.

We had a lovely memorial service at the Worser Bay Boating Club. This was the perfect venue for us. The venue is well set up with everything we needed, and the team were so willing and helpful. Such an amazing spot!

My daughter and I attended a swim safety lesson as part of my daughter’s primary school swim safety program, we had 5 lovely young lifeguards who did such an amazing job explaining everything so clearly to all the children. They were very engaging with them, made everyone feel safe and welcome and we all had such a blast in the water. What a beautiful beach to swim in!

I thought I saw penguins here but no, they were not. Still a nice place to stop during a tour of the city.
