Highly recommend the chocolatier experience, our guide was extremely helpful and informative about the process. We booked for a birthday and it was a lot of fun. There's a wide range of ingredients to choose from to add to your chocolate and it was fun to take risks and see how it all turns out! I treated my wife to a chocolatier experience here for her birthday and went along with her. There was only one other person in the group, so Amy was able to give us very personal attention. It was great fun and very informative - and we are looking forward to sampling the three bars of chocolate that we each made!
I went to Wellington chocolate factory as recommended by a stranger I bumped into. My friend and I booked the Original chocolate experience and found it a lot of fun coming home with three bars of our own decorated chocolate. Relaxed and welcoming vibe, would recommend 👌 💞✨️
It was okay. $65 for 1.5 hours seemed reasonable, buuuut… we were put in a tiny side room while another group got the main area. From what we could tell, there was no difference between their session and ours, other than us being stuck in a stuffy little room, which was pretty disappointing. The complimentary hot chocolate came in a paper cup with no marshmallows. Missed opportunity, guys — a proper mug and a few marshmallows on the side would have made it feel a bit more special. The takeaway chocolate was put in plain brown paper bags with no labels or anything fun. Another missed opportunity. No water was offered throughout, which feels pretty essential when you're licking chocolate spatulas and tasting cocoa beans (which was actually a cool part of the experience). There was no music, no photo opportunities, and overall it just lacked a bit of atmosphere. It definitely could (and should) be better for the price. That said, the chick who ran it was absolutely lovely! She was friendly, welcoming, and pretty good value.
This chocolate factory is so amazing! You can see them making the chocolate, if you're lucky you can book to make it yourself too! The artwork on the walls is great and it has a great selection of their chocolate with samples. I had the hot chocolate (dark) with oat milk, it was honestly incredible and I loved the chocolate 🍫 super friendly staff in a very photo picturesque location! Would definitely go next time I'm in Wellington and a spot for everyone to stop by!
