Boutique hotel with an industrial design in Hannah's Laneway
The place was so lovely. Interior design was beautiful. Was amazing being so close to town but tucked away enough to not be disturbed by the Courtney Place noise. Restaurants, pubs, cafes etc literally right outside your door.
We love it here, it’s all self service and close to everywhere delicious in central Wellington. The rooms have everything you need (iron, toothbrush, and so forth), are modern with lovely bedding, comfortable pillows and beds, and an excellent shower.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Cobbler Hotel. The room was beautifully styled, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with great amenities and lovely complimentary touches that made the stay feel extra special. It truly had everything you needed for a relaxing city stay. The location was absolutely fabulous, just a short walk to Cuba Street with its incredible restaurants, bars and atmosphere, making it the perfect base for exploring Wellington. Parking was a little challenging at first, however the hotel staff provided excellent instructions and guidance on how best to navigate the parking situation, which made it completely manageable and far less stressful. It certainly wasn’t a reflection on the hotel, simply part of staying in such a fantastic central location.
This hotel is super cute, the room was comfortable and modern. However, my room was located right above a bar/cafe, and right across from their kitchen vent. This meant the room smelled like food, even if I kept the windows closed. This really bothered me and this alone, unfortunately, means I wouldn’t stay there again. Update: Dear Mady and Jarod, if you look through the reviews here, you’ll see that mine is not the first one that mentions food smell or cooking oil smell due to the rooms being right above the restaurant. It may not be coming from the vent that is right across from the window of the room, I am not a tradie so that was just a guess on my part. This does not make the problem any less. And the problem is clearly a RECURRING one. My name is just spelled differently here on google reviews than it is in my passport/booking, no big mystery there with “finding my booking”. I stayed at your hotel 17-18 March 2026. Hopefully you can fix the cooking smell issue because it kills the whole vibe. Good luck
What's not to love about The Cobbler? Perfect inner city location but in a quiet little haven. Luxurious linen, little treats for our arrival, large bathroom with a rain shower head, Apple TV.... but best of all is the personal and instant communications from our hosts. Makes it feel more like home than hotel. Defs returning
